The recent years general public attracted to invest in Initial Public Offers IOPs in Nepal’s Share Market. However, there are a total of 48,05,820 Demat accounts registered in the country among them 39,17,440 registered for Meroshare account, the official online application portal and website, apply for and manage share stocks.
As per published news today in Kantipur daily the regulator had approved the IPO proposals of 5 companies. Still, there are 13 IPO proposals on SEBON’s pipeline under preliminary review.
SEBON has reviewed and sent its comment to 6 other companies for incorporation. Likewise, twelve companies have replied and are under review. Additionally, 12 companies that have completed the multiple phases of review-and-comment are the first to get approval if everything goes well.
As such, shareholders can expect to have the IPO proposals approved by SEBON soon. However, SEBON’s official response is that these companies have to register their shares and await approval, hence the approval hasn’t happened yet.
