For vegetarian people this recipe is made without meat or chicken. It is usually served with rice or noodles, but you can also serve it as a starter.

Many people like to eat rice or noodles with pungent Manchurian. One such recipe is of Manchurian gravy which is made and eaten in many ways.

You can make Manchurian recipe in the manner of dried or gravy. You can make them with gobi, paneer, mushrooms or meat of your choice. I have used vegetables in this post and I have made fried balls from them. In texture, this recipe will resemble a recipe made of meat. Some people say that these two recipes are similar but I believe different. Both recipes are made with vegetables but have a different texture and taste. Therefore, you should try and make both the recipes.

I would like to give some tips and tricks to make veg manchurian gravy Manchurmurian gravy recipe. Depending on the method of serving, you can make this recipe in gravy or dry manner. If you want to keep this recipe dry then do not make cornflour solution. While making the vegetable ball I have added cornflour to make it crispy. You can also use rice flour instead, but the result will be slightly different. You can mix vegetables of your taste in this recipe. Just finely chop them so that they mix well in the gravy.

Ingredients

For Manchurian’s Ball:
1 carrot, grated
5 tbsp cauliflower, chopped
5 tbsp green onions, chopped
½ onion, finely chopped
½ tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp chili sauce
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp all purpose flour / plain flour
2 tbsp cornflour
Oil, for frying

Method

1 .First, in a large bowl take 1 carrot, 5 tablespoons of cabbage, 5 tablespoons of green onion (spring onion), ½ onion and ½ tsp of ginger garlic paste.
2 .Add 1 tsp chili sauce and ½ tsp salt.
3 .Mix this mixture well.
4 .Then add 2 tablespoons spoon maida, 2 tablespoons cornflour and mix well.
5 .Add more all purpose flour and make soft pindi (flour).
6 .Now make small ball shaped balls (balls) from this pindi.
7 .Fry them in hot oil from medium to low flam.
8 .Stir the Manchurian continuously, frying until golden brown.
9 .Now keep the Manchurian balls out of the oil and keep them aside.
10 .Now heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large pan and add 1 inch ginger, 3 pieces garlic, 1 chili and 2 tablespoons green onions and stir.
11 .After this, add ½ onion and fry it on high heat.
12 .Then add ½ capsicum and fry it till it shrink slightly.
13 .Then add 2 tablespoons vinegar, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon chilli sauce, 2 tablespoons tomato sauce, ½ teaspoon pepper powder and ¼ teaspoon salt.
14 .Stir the mixture thoroughly, mixing all the sauces.
15 .Now add 1 cup of water and boil it on medium heat.
16 .Take 2 tsp cornflour and 2 cups of water in a small bowl.
17 .Make a slurry solution without adding it.
18 .Now add cornflour solution to the sauce and mix well.
19 .Boil until the gravy becomes thick and shiny.
20 .Then add the prepared Manchurian with 2 tablespoons of green onions and mix well.
21 .Finally serve the veg manchurian gravy with fried rice.

 

To make gravy:

Oil – 2 tbsp
Ginger, finely chopped – 1 inch
garlic, finely chopped – 3
chilli, chopped – 1
green onions, chopped -4
onion, finely chopped -1/2
capsicum, chopped – 1/2
vinegar –  2 tbsp
soy sauce – 2 tbsp
chili sauce – 1 tbsp
tomato sauce – 2 tbsp
black pepper powder – 1/2
tsp salt as per taste
water – 1/4 cup

For solution:

cornflour – 2 tbsp
water – 1/4 cup
